History

    Spaulding & Norris, PA, was established in July 1999 as a result of the merger of two civil engineering firms, Spaulding Engineering and Norris Design Consultants. Stephanie Norris, PE, established Norris Design Consultants in May 1995, while working as an Assistant Resident Engineer for the North Carolina Department in Division 5 Durham Office, and later left NCDOT to pursue private development projects in August 1997 in Cumberland and Brunswick counties. Thomas Spaulding, PE, started Spaulding Engineering in December 1996, after working for other local engineering firms, and provided civil engineering services throughout Wake and Durham counties.

    In the Fall of 2000, S&N expanded their services to include in-house environmental engineering. This expansion has allowed us to provide wetland and stream buffer delineation and permitting, in addition to the planning and civil engineering design, on the majority of our projects.
